He told the reporter interviewing him that Monsanto's herbicide, Roundup, was not responsible for the skyrocketing cancer rates in Argentina. Moore declared that it was safe to drink a quart of Roundup pesticide, but declined to try even a sip while on the set.
In March, the World Health Organization's International Firm for Research on Cancer released a report which discovered that glyphosate was "most likely carcinogenic to human beings", responsible for increased risks for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. After the research's publication, Monsanto has been scrambling to obtain the WHO to retract its report.
